The following guide will teach you how to migrate your game server and data from GGServers to Citadel Servers.
Step 1: Create a Backup Through GGServers
Before beginning the migration, create a backup of your server through the GGServers control panel.
This backup can be used as a recovery point if files are accidentally modified or omitted during the transfer process.
Step 2: Download Your Server Files
Access your GGServers File Manager or FTP credentials and download the files you wish to migrate.
We recommend transferring the following:
• World saves
• Maps and custom worlds
• Player data
• Plugins and plugin configurations
• Mods and modpacks
• Server configuration files
• Custom resource packs and content
Store the downloaded files on your local computer before continuing.
Step 3: Upload Files to Citadel Servers
Connect to your Citadel Servers service using FTP or the Game Panel File Manager.
Upload all downloaded files into the appropriate directories on your Citadel Servers service.
FTP is recommended for large worlds, extensive modpacks, and servers containing custom content.

Step 4: Verify Server Configuration
Before starting your server, verify that:
• The correct game version is installed
• Plugins and mods have been uploaded successfully
• Configuration files transferred correctly
• Startup settings match your previous configuration
• Administrative permissions have been recreated if necessary
Step 5: Start and Test Your Server
Start your Citadel Servers service and verify that all content was transferred successfully.
• Worlds load correctly
• Player data is present
• Plugins and mods function properly
• Players can connect successfully
Alternative Method: Upload a Backup Archive
If you created a downloadable backup through GGServers, you may upload the backup archive directly through the Citadel Servers File Manager.
Once uploaded, extract the archive and move the files into their proper server locations.
Common Migration Issues
World Missing After Transfer
Verify that all world folders were uploaded completely and placed in the correct directory.
Plugins or Mods Not Loading
Ensure that all required files, dependencies, and configuration files were transferred successfully.
Server Startup Errors
Review your startup logs and verify that all necessary files and settings were migrated correctly.
