The following guide will teach you how to migrate your game server and data from Nitrado to Citadel Servers.
Step 1: Create a Nitrado Backup
Before beginning the migration, create a backup of your server through the Nitrado web interface.
Having a backup ensures that your server can be restored if any files are accidentally modified or omitted during the migration process.
Step 2: Access Your Server Files
Log in to your Nitrado control panel and access the File Browser or FTP credentials section.
Download any files you wish to migrate, including:
• World saves
• Player data
• Maps
• Mods
• Plugins
• Configuration files
• Custom scripts and content
Save all files to your local computer before proceeding.
Step 3: Upload Files to Citadel Servers
Connect to your Citadel Servers service using FTP or the Game Panel File Manager.
Upload your downloaded Nitrado files into the appropriate directories on your Citadel Servers service.
For larger game worlds or heavily modded servers, FTP is generally recommended for faster and more reliable transfers.

Step 4: Review Server Settings
Before starting the server, verify the following:
• The correct game and server version is installed

Step 5: Start and Test Your Server
Start your Citadel Servers service and verify that everything transferred successfully.
• Worlds load correctly
• Save data is present
• Mods and plugins function normally
• Players can connect successfully
Alternative Method: Transfer a Backup Archive
If you created a downloadable backup from Nitrado, you may upload the backup archive directly to your Citadel Servers service.
After uploading, extract the archive and place the files into their proper server directories.
Common Migration Issues
Missing Save Data
Verify that all save game folders and player data files were downloaded and uploaded successfully.
Mods Not Loading
Ensure all required mod files and dependencies are installed and compatible with your current server version.
Server Fails to Start
