Modding your V Rising server is a fantastic way to customize gameplay, enhance server management, and create unique experiences for your community. Whether you're adding quality-of-life improvements, tweaking game mechanics, or introducing entirely new features, plugins and mods can transform your server into something truly special. V Rising supports server-side modding through frameworks like BepInEx, which allows you to load custom plugins without altering the base game files. Once installed, these plugins can automate tasks, adjust game balance, and even add new content all while keeping your server stable and secure.
(Note: Download BepInEx first before installing any mods/plugins on your server.)
Manually Installing Mods/Plugins on your V Rising
1. Go to Thunderstore and select the mods that you wanted.
2. Install the mods on your local PC.
3. Once the mods are downloaded on your local PC, locate your mods by going to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\VRising".
4. Typically, a mod folder will look something like this:
In most cases, installing a mod is as simple as extracting the .ddl file into the appropriate plugin folder. However, it's always important to review the mod’s README or documentation, as some mods may include additional files or require specific setup steps unique to their functionality.
5. Log in to your Game Control Panel and navigate to your service.
6. Before making any modifications, stop the server from running by clicking the Stop button.
7. When transferring files, we highly recommend to use FTP like Filezilla for easier file management. Transfer the .dll files to your server by going to Bepinex>>plugins folder.
8. Once all the mods are uploaded, start your server and enjoy your mods.
